From Boundary Stone:

“Do you like history, biking, and/or adventure? Have you been waiting impatiently for #BSride2016 ever since #BSride2015 ended? Me too!!

So I’ll see you on October 22nd for a bike ride around the oldest federal monuments, the DC boundary stones.

Register now! We’ll meet at Jones Point (South stone) at 9am, wheels up at 9:30am.

You can ride 1, 2, 3 or all 4 sides of the DC perimeter (if you do the whole thing, it’s about 60 miles – add the ride back to Boundary Stone, and it’s a metric century ride!). As always, the ride will be sponsored by Boundary Stone DC! The first 50 registrants get a swag bag (including awesome t-shirt), and everybody who participates in the ride gets a free beer ticket to be used at the bar that night. The after party starts at 7pm! There will be a band, specials on DC Brau Brewing Company beers all night, and more! All riders and supporters welcome. This is an unsupported ride. Our amazing partner Phoenix Bikes will be doing checks and minor repairs at the start and at a rest stop at the West stone, and new partner Gearin’ Up Bicycles will have you covered at the East stone, but you should be prepared with everything you might need along the way: ID & cash, pump and spare tube/ patch kit, etc. Most of the ride is on regular roads, which means stopping at lights, avoiding potholes, and dealing with unpredictable drivers. There will also be some off-roading!! Portions of the route are on trails, gravel, and grass, and might even involve crossing a small stream. (Sounds like fun, right?!!)

Whether this is your 1st or your 4th ride, get ready for an incredible day!

Invite your friends, and spread the word! #BSride2016″

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
