From a press release:

“Live entertainment gets a remix this summer when BUCKEYE + BEAR, the unique new live music venue and sports bar, launches June 18 in the heart of Dupont (1730 M Street NW).

The eclectic 280-person venue features an exciting rotating weekly entertainment schedule, including multi-genre live entertainment, costume karaoke, comedy shows and trivia nights spread over two distinct spaces — The Ballroom and The Green Room.

The Ballroom will showcase a wide variety of live entertainment weekly, including local and regional bands, comedy shows, karaoke events and trivia nights. The Ballroom features a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system with an eye-catching assortment of vintage speakers serving as the stage backdrop. Banquette-style seating with dining tables forms the border of The Ballroom, while the center of the space is dotted with lounge-style couches that can be removed for larger concerts and private events.

The Green Room is a sports bar with six large flat-screen TVs, 22 seats at the bar, seven cozy booths ideal for small groups and two standing rail tables that are great for larger groups.

BUCKEYE + BEAR offers eight beers on draft, including local favorites such as DC Brau and 3 Stars, American classics like Bud Light and Pabst Blue Ribbon, and internationals staples such as Stella Artois and Heineken. Beer and cocktail prices range $6 to $10 and select items will be half price during happy hour, Sunday through Friday, 5 to 8pm. BUCKEYE + BEAR’s traditional southern BBQ menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, shredded brisket nachos, buffalo chicken dip and D.C. classic, the half-smoke.

BUCKEYE + BEAR is the newest venture from D.C. hospitality entrepreneurs Ryan Seelbach and Eric Lund, deriving its name from the co-owners’ home states — Ohio and Alaska. Seelbach and Lund are also the owners and operators of popular Shaw neighborhood venue TAKODA Restaurant & Beer Garden.

“Our goal was to create a venue unlike any other in Washington,” Lund says of BUCKEYE + BEAR’s one-of-a-kind programming. “Whether someone is looking to watch the big game, discover a new band, check out an underground comic, or let loose with karaoke, we have every facet of evening entertainment covered.”

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
