Passion Project Pop-Up Week” is a week to celebrate the accomplishments of our staff at Crane & Turtle, as we come to the end of this rewarding chapter in our professional lives.
We have organized a week of activities to showcase the talents of our team members before we tackle a re-launch of the space with a new concept. (Crane & Turtle’s final day of service to the public is Saturday April 23rd.)

Mona Moon Dinner
As part of the Passion Project Pop-Up Week, Crane & Turtle Sous Chef Kyle Rubin will be creating a dinner menu that is seasonal and personal. Kyle’s food takes inspiration from the bounty of the season and marries it with his long experience at Crane & Turtle, CityZen, Sou’Wester, Blacksalt and The Little Nell.

Pop-Up Natural Wine Bar: Off the Beaten Path, Italy
Meet us at Crane & Turtle for a special evening to enjoy unique and rare Italian natural wines. From 5pm to close on Wednesday April 27th, we’ll have our pop-up wine bar and the patio open with delicious artisanal wines imported to DC for the first time! All wines are the product of the work and love of family wineries who wish to express terroir through minimal intrusion.
The wines:
+ Caneva da Nani: An artisanal ‘Col Fondo” Prosecco produced by a family in the heart of Veneto
+ Furlani: a high altitude biodynamic sparkling red from the Dolomites
+ Paterna: a Tuscan white produced by a small group of families practicing organic polyculture
+ Guglierame: a complex and deep rosé respecting the traditions of the local Ormeasco grape in the mountains of Liguria
+ Collecapretta and Vigneti Campanino: two different iterations of the Sangiovese grape from the secluded but fascinating region of Umbria
These natural wines, imported into Washington, D.C. for the first time, will be available by the glass, or as a flight, paired with delicious snacks. Come join us for this unexpected wine tour of Italy in Petworth!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
