From a press release:

“The Chocolate House, DC’s premier chocolate boutique, is excited to host the first annual DC Chocolate Festival on April 9, 2016 from 10am-5pm. This will be the East Coast’s first meeting of artisanal chocolate makers and chocolate lovers from the DC metropolitan region, the US and beyond.

Taking place at the Westin DC Center (1400 M Street, NW, Washington, DC) chocoholics and chocolate lovers will be able to taste and purchase some of the best chocolate creations from more than 20 of the world’s premier chocolate makers. These makers include local favorites like DC’s Chocotenango, Harper Macaw and Undone Chocolate, Maryland’s Charm City Chocolates and Virginia’s Potomac Chocolate.

In addition to sampling, attendees will be able to learn from the best in the business with the Chocolate Workshops. From bean to bar chocolate making to the skills of serious chocolate tasting to savory cooking cacao and chocolate, these workshops are a unique opportunity to learn from some of the best chocolate minds in the industry. Classes are included in the ticket price and will be sure to leave students wanting more. The silent auction will feature gift cards from area restaurants as well other gift baskets and benefit the DC Central Kitchen.

In addition to the Chocolate House, the DC Chocolate Festival is sponsored by Amedei Chocolate, Valrhona Chocolate and Michel Cluizel chocolate.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
