“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have announced that an arrest has been made in multiple Robbery offenses through the District of Columbia.
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on January 27, 2016, in the 1800 block of Newton Street, Northeast, at approximately 8:00 pm.
o After the victim exited her vehicle, the suspect approached her from the front. A struggle began, as the suspect attempted to grab the victim’s purse. The suspect obtained the victim’s belongings and fled the scene. CCN 16-013-430
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 14, 2016, in the 1100 block of Fern Street, Northwest, at approximately 3:35 pm.
o The victim entered her vehicle and placed her personal items beside her. The suspect opened victim’s door and grabbed the victim’s purse. After a brief struggle, the suspect obtained the victims purse, and fled northbound in a vehicle. CCN 16-022-924
A Robbery (Snatch) offense occurred on February 15, 2016, in the 1300 block of Somerset Place, Northwest, at approximately 6:45 pm.
o The suspect approached the victim from behind, as she was entering the door at the listed location. The suspect then snatched the victim’s purse, and fled eastbound. CCN 16-023-352
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 15, 2016, in the 1300 block of Underwood Street, Northwest, at approximately 6:50 pm.
o Two suspects approached the victim. Suspect one attempted to take the victims purse, and began assaulting her. The victim continued to hold on to her belongings, as the suspect drug her to his vehicle. The suspect began to punch and kick the victim and she let go of her belonging. The suspects then fled in a vehicle. CCN 16-023-357
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 16, 2016, in the 3200 block of Fort Lincoln Drive, Northeast, at approximately 10:30 pm.
o A vehicle pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle. The suspect exited that vehicle and opened the victim’s passenger side door, where he stole her purse. The suspect re-entered his vehicle, and fled the scene. CCN 16-023-936
A Robbery (Snatch) offense occurred on February 23, 2016, in the 6000 block of Chillum Place, Northeast, at approximately 4:15 pm.
o As the victim entered her vehicle, the suspect opened the passenger door and grabbed the victim’s personal items. The suspect then fled eastbound from the listed location. CCN 16-027-666
A Robbery (Snatch) offense occurred on February 23, 2016, in the 6700 block of 14th, Northwest, at approximately 5:12 pm.
o The victim was sitting in her vehicle when the suspect opened her passenger door, and snatched her purse from the seat. The suspect fled the scene. CCN 16-027-739
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 23, 2016, in the 1600 block of Newton Street, Northeast, at approximately 6:15 pm.
o The victim was about to enter her front door, when she was approached by the suspect. The suspect abruptly pulled the victim’s bags from her shoulder, causing her to fall backwards. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. CCN 16-027-766
A Robbery (Fear) offense occurred on February 23, 2016, in the 3000 block of Otis Street, Northeast, at approximately 7:20 pm.
o Two victims were walking to their vehicle, when the suspect approached them. The suspect threatened the victims and stole their personal belongings. CCN 16-027-809
A Robbery (Snatch) offense occurred on February 25, 2016, in the 2800 block of 15th Street, Northeast, at approximately 12:39 pm.
o The suspect pulled his vehicle alongside the victim’s vehicle, opened the passenger door, and grabbed her personal items off the seat. The suspect fled the scene southbound. CCN 16-028-692
An Attempted Robbery offense occurred on February 25, 2016, in the 400 block of Kennedy Street, Northeast, at approximately 3:10 pm.
o The victim was in her vehicle, attempting to turn around in an alley, when the suspect’s vehicle blocked her in. The suspect exited his vehicle and attempted to open the victim’s door, but failed. CCN 16-028-849
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 25, 2016, in the 2000 block of Upshur Street, Northeast, at approximately 3:30 pm.
o Two victims arrived at the listed location, when three suspects exited their vehicle and began assaulting them. The suspects forcefully took the victim’s personal items, and fled the scene in an unknown direction. CCN 16-028-879
A Robbery (Force and Violence) offense occurred on February 25, 2016, in the 1000 block of Crittenden Street, Northeast, at approximately 3:35 pm.
o The victim arrived at the listed address, where she observed the suspect standing nearby. As she approached her home, the suspect grabbed her personal items from behind, and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. CCN 16-028-775
A Robbery (Snatch) offense occurred on March 3, 2016, in the 400 block of Butternut Street, Northwest, at approximately 6:25 pm.
o The victim was waiting outside and attempted to place her items nearby her feet. The suspects then approached her from behind and snatched her items. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle heading southbound. CCN 16-033-004
On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, 23-year-old, Terrell Strickland, of Northwest, DC, was arrested. He was charged with multiple Robbery offenses.
This case remains under investigation.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
