“Ambulance stuck in the snow on unplowed street”

“Dear PoPville,

How about a Wednesday edition of “Has Your Street Been Plowed?”?

No one ever came on the side streets in our neighborhood of Adams-Morgan between Columbia/19th St, NW and 18th Street, NW. Some vehicles have pushed through and created a single one-way lane of ruts, which, if cars meet, requires one to reverse and back up or down a hill and risk sliding into cars parked on both sides of the street. It’s like a bad game of bumper cars.

The city’s online snow plow reporting system was so bogus and did not reflect reality. It was just a bunch of warm dry people in heated offices looking at warm dry screens and telling people snow action request tickets were closed.”

Ed. Note: Check out this map to see streets that have been plowed.

Also I just got this email from a reader:

“Ambulance stuck in the snow on unplowed street

I wanted to share this video I took this morning on the 1400 block of Belmont St NW. An ambulance picked someone up then got stuck in the snow because after 3 days DC has not sent any plows down the street even once. At the end, the driver had to get out to shovel his tires out of the snow and back down the street.”

Video after the jump.

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
