The phenomena of transience surrounds us in our everyday lives, from how we process information in the digital age, to how we move through spaces (how space changes and how space is changed by our presence). Transience is put together to question these actions. How we are affected by space or objects and how affecting we are upon this realm.

It is our intention that through the careful curation of William Matheson’s and Luke Alexander Atkinson’s work to provide different interpretations of these subtle mutations. Matheson’s work addresses inklings of both reminisces of the great masters, dreamscapes with the touch of the digital realm. Atkinson’s work reflects on the restlessness of life itself, giving us frame-by-frame poetic physiological expressions and responses to this changing state. Through Transience we are able to bring our interpretations, understanding, and own experiences to ponder the familiar.

In our ever-changing art world, it is increasingly harder for emerging artists to break into the scene and get valued exposure. Additionally, the more popular the art world becomes the harder it gets for emerging collectors to learn about art collecting and the art world. The Kanekt Series plans to tackle both problems in a home pop up apartment weekend series. Hosts will open up their homes for a weekend where artists display their works and audiences can come view, chat and potentially buy pieces. There will be a relaxed open environment for discussion and education both for collectors who want to start building their portfolios and for artists working on getting exposure for future representation.”
