“Law Enforcement Medical Evacuation Exercises Involving Helicopters at U.S. Capitol
WASHINGTON, DC – On Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st, the United States Capitol Police in coordination with the United States Park Police and Metropolitan Police Department will be conducting Law Enforcement Helicopter, Medical Evacuation Exercises. DC Fire & EMS will also be on site.
These exercises are scheduled to occur between 6:30 – 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on each day.
During each exercise period, one U.S. Park Police and one Metropolitan Police Department helicopter will land on the East Front of the U.S. Capitol and at Union Square. Brief temporary street closures in the immediate area of the U.S. Capitol directly related to these exercises will be in effect during each exercise period.”
