“The meeting was arranged in response to community concern when a juvenile was arrested in connection with a vicious attack on a U Street resident but was then not subsequently charged by the DC Office of the Attorney General. Other community members have raised concerns after the shoots fired in the park in Columbia Heights and the way violent attacks by juveniles are being handled by the DC Office of the Attorney General.”

Public Safety Town Hall Meeting on Juvenile Prosecution

At the request of area residents and the ANC 1B Public Safety Committee, Attorney General Karl A. Racine and Commissioner John Green, Chair of the Public Safety Committee will co-host a Public Safety Town Hall on Juvenile Prosecution to discuss how the Office of the Attorney General prosecutes juveniles. Also present will be the office of Ward 1 Council member Brianne Nadeau, the Metropolitan Police Department, and staff from the office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.

When: Wednesday, July 15, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
