4 Guns Recovered, 1 Burglar Arrested Friday

From MPD:

“Members of the MPD 3D Crime Suppression Team executed a search warrant at 616 Farragut Street, NW, based on an arrest of subject with a gun that occurred in the 3rd District several days ago. Recovered from the house was a firearm and additional ammunition. There were two people arrested.”

and

“On Friday, June 12th around 4:30 P.M., two people were riding a dirt bike in the 3600 block of Warder Street, NW. The bike became in an accident and the driver fled. The passenger attempted to flee but was stopped by MPD officers. Recovered from the passenger was a loaded handgun. He was arrested and charged with carrying a pistol. We are seeking to identify the driver of the dirt bike, if anyone has any information they are asked to call the MPD CIC at 202-727-9099 or text at 50411.”

“On June 11, 2015, at 10:30p.m., the Third District Crime Suppression Team conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Mozart Place, NW.

After further investigation by the officers a .40 caliber semi auto pistol was recovered from this vehicle. The adult male driver was arrested and charged with Carrying a Pistol without license.

On June 12, 2015, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Third District Crime Suppression team executed a search warrant in the Fourth District based upon this arrest.

As a result of the search warrant an additional firearm was recovered along with ammunition. Also, two adult males were arrested and charged with an Unregistered Firearm.”

“On June 11, unknown suspects forced entry into a premises located in the 3500 block of 14th Street, NW, stealing property. The owner had video surveillance that was viewed by patrol officers. The officers recognized one of the suspects as someone they had contact with on prior occasions and began to canvass the immediate area. The officers located the suspect and placed him under arrest for Burglary II. This closure was made due to the availability of video evidence and the patrol officer’s contact with people on their beat. Arrested was 59 year-old Nathaniel Davis of Northeast, Washington, DC. The detectives will continue to investigate to determine if he is involved in other crimes in the area.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
