Two Shot, One Killed in Takoma; Also Shooting near H Street, NE

From MPD – Homicide 400 block Butternut Street NW:

“On Sunday, April 26, 2015, around 2:00 am, MPD responded to the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival two victims were found suffering from gun shot wounds. One of the victims subsequently expired from the wounds. Homicide detectives are conducting the investigation.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 400 block of Butternut Street, Northwest.

On Sunday, April 26, 2015 at approximately 1:59 am, members of the Fourth District responded to the report of a shooting in the 400 block of Butternut Street, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the first victim to a local hospital. The second victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia and pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 39 year-old Darryn Conte of Waldorf, Maryland.”

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in connection with a homicide.

On Sunday, April 26, 2015 at approximately 1:59 am, two adult males were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 400 block of Butternut Street, Northwest. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the first victim to a local hospital. The second victim, 39 year-old Darryn Conte of Waldorf, Maryland was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, April 30, 2015, at approximately 8:20 am, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 42 year-old Mark Beasley of Laurel, Maryland. He was charged with Murder One while Armed in connection with the shooting death of Darryn Conte.”
