From WMATA:

“Metrobus service is transitioning from the current “moderate” snow plan to a light snow plan, with the goal of having service restored on all routes — with detours — by 10:30 a.m. today

Under the light snow plan, all Metrobus routes are in service. However, snow detours will continue in effect as shown on Metro’s website to keep buses away from hilly terrain, narrow streets and other problem areas. Riders are encouraged to check the webpage below and plan to board their bus outside of the detour zones:

Metro will alert riders on a route-by-route basis through MetroAlerts (email and text message) and Twitter as detours are cancelled and normal routing is restored. Metro is also advising bus riders of the potential for delays in service dued to traffic and road conditions. Customers can use NextBus for real-time arrival information to minimize their wait time.

MetroAccess service (for riders with disabilities) will be restored at noon today. The MetroAccess call center is open to assist customers with rescheduling their trips.

Metrorail is open and operating on a regular weekday schedule.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
