@rosemariochoa tweeted us earlier this morning:

“Helicopters, ambulance, police, road blocks. What’s going on in #MountVernonSquare?”

From Events DC:

“The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will host the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on Saturday, February 28 through Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Attendance is estimated at 17,000.

AIPAC daily activity hours will be 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. with the exception of Tuesday, March 3 when the event concludes at 2:00 p.m.

Shuttle operations will take place outside of the Convention Center as follows:

§ L Street NW –Between 7th and 9th streets (north and south sides); and
§ M Street NW – Between 7th and 9th streets (south side)

Restricted Parking
Sunday, March 1 @ 6AM – Tuesday, March 3 @ 6PM

AIPAC has received a permit from the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to bag the metered spaces outside of the Convention Center on the west side of the 1100 block of 7th Street NW (between L and M streets). Restricted parking hours in this location are from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 1 through 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3.

L Street Sidewalk Closures / No Pedestrian Access

Saturday, February 28 @ 7AM – Tuesday, March 3 @ 3PM

AIPAC has also received a permit from DDOT to temporarily close the sidewalks outside of the Convention Center on L Street NW between 7th and 9th streets (north and south sides). The temporary closure will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28 through 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 3 with no pedestrian access during this period. There may be additional parking restrictions and intermittent road closures without advance notice for security reasons.

You may anticipate an increase in WMATA ridership (especially at the Mt Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center station), high demand for taxis and much greater than usual pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The taxi stand on Mount Vernon Place will be staffed by Events DC transportation staff and officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

The appropriate District agencies have been notified for additional traffic monitoring and enforcement of parking regulations in the area surrounding the Convention Center.

As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Please join us in welcoming the AIPAC to our community.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
