Brewmaster Studios Artist Space Available for Rent at Heurich House Museum

“The Heurich House Museum is now accepting applications from artists, makers, and craftspeople for shared studio space in the heart of Dupont Circle, available April 1, 2015. Brewmaster Studios will be located at 1921 Sunderland Place, in the carriage house on the private grounds of the vibrant, innovative historic house museum.

A minimum of ten (10) open studio spaces will be available on the first floor of the carriage house for a monthly fee of $500 per artist-renter. Seven (7) partially-private studio spaces will be available on the second floor of the carriage house for a monthly fee of $550 per artist-renter.

Brewmaster Studios artists will be listed on the Heurich House Museum’s website. Marketing and retail opportunities will include participation in First Fridays, Art All Night, and open studio events, as well as programming partnerships with the museum that includes preference to participate in the annual German Christkindlmarkt. Artists will have potential for leadership within the studio community and a shared listserv.

Rent also includes: 24/7 access, wireless internet, common area maintenance and cleaning, utilities (gas, electric, HVAC), two bathrooms (including one shower), shared kitchenette.

About Heurich House Museum: The Heurich House Museum preserves local Washington, DC history and educates the public through Christian Heurich’s legacy and mansion. The mansion was built from 1892-4 by German immigrant, local brewer, and philanthropist Christian Heurich (1842-1945). Recognized as Washington, D.C.’s most successful brewer, he ran the Chr. Heurich Brewing Co. until his death at 102. The mansion is notable for its technological innovations, original interiors, and rich archival collection of one of the most important local families. The museum, located at 1307 New Hampshire Avenue in Dupont Circle, is open for regular public events and public tours Thursday through Saturday at 11:30 am, 1:00 and 2:30 pm. Private tours and event rentals are also available.”
