“Shop for your loved ones and give back this holiday season! From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, visit acclaimed lifestyle store Salt & Sundry at its new Logan Circle location for “Sip & Shop,” a night of stylish holiday shopping and festive food and drink to benefit No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength’s campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

Sip & Shop guests will enjoy punch and small bites from longtime No Kid Hungry supporters Mixologist Adam Bernbach and Chef Haidar Karoum (2 Birds, 1 Stone) while shopping for holiday gifts. Ten percent of revenue from the event will support No Kid Hungry. Select No Kid Hungry merchandise will also be available, with full proceeds benefitting the campaign’s work to connect kids to the healthy food they need, every day.

Sip & Shop is hosted by the Taste of the Nation® for No Kid Hungry Washington, DC committee as they gear up for another successful tasting event in 2015. All Sip & Shop guests will receive a special discount code for tickets to next year’s Taste of the Nation Washington, DC, which will take place on Monday, April 13, 2015. Guests who purchase at least $200 of merchandise at Sip & Shop will also be entered to win two VIP tickets to the event. One hundred percent of ticket proceeds from Taste of the Nation support No Kid Hungry.

Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
