“A dash of Iron-Chef with a hint of Project Runway, SCRAP DC presents Rebel Craft Rumble, a live crafting competition, on Saturday, September 27th, 7pm at Columbia Heights’ rowdiest hub, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church . Four teams will take on creative reuse challenges and compete for the Extreme Ultimate Supreme Craft Master title:
Craftaholics Anonymous: Liz Balchin and Alex Chaikin
Harry Wardman’s Rust Wranglers: James Kerns and Noah David
Team Radish: Melina Rauskolb and Laura Bill
Tomato & Asparagus: ChristieLyn Diller and Jill Weaverling
Teams will be judged by the retro and whimsical Artist and Illustrator, Claudine Hellmuth, and DC Ward 5 Councilmember, Kenyan McDuffie. Hosted by improv master, Stanley Seiden, and supported by DC Lady Arm Wrestlers, this event is the first of what will surely become DC tradition. Early bird tickets are $10 through September 21, regular tickets at $15 and are available at online at scrapdcrcr.
