MPD Investigating Multiple, Possibly Related, Sexual Assaults

“The Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit is investigating three sexual assaults in that occurred in the Fourth District that are similar in nature and possibly related.

On Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at approximately 2:03 am, a female was walking on Mt. Pleasant Street, when a male attempted to engage her in conversation. When the female turned onto the 1700 block of Kenyon Street, the suspect put his arms around the female and groped her under her clothing. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with long dark hair approximately 26 to 32 years old.

On Saturday, August 23, 2014, at approximately 2:35 am, a female was walking in the 1300 block of Oak Street, NW, when a male suspect armed with a knife approached her from behind, grabbed her around the neck, and groped her under her clothing. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed during the altercation. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in late 20s to early 30s, 5’4”, stocky build, cleaned shaven, short hair, wearing a blue, green and white polka dot button down collar shirt, and a red, black and white Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

On Sunday, August 24, 2014 at approximately 3:10 am, a female was walking in an alley in the rear of the 1700 block of Park Road, when she saw a male following her. The suspect placed his arms around the victim’s waist and groped her. The victim was able to flee. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in mid 20’s, 5’4″, black gelled back hair, and wearing a black short sleeve polo shirt and blue jeans.
