Arlington Man Dies After Apparent Assault in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating an undetermined death, which occurred in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 at approximately 1:49 am, Second District officers responded to the report of an assault in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male lying on the ground. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was admitted for treatment. On Wednesday, July 2, 2014, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 57 year-old Michael Hrizuk of Arlington, Virginia.

The decedent’s remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A determination of the cause and manner of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

The investigation is continuing.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have announced that the undetermined death, which occurred in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest has been ruled a homicide.

On Saturday, June 21, 2014 at approximately 1:49 am, Second District officers responded to the report of an assault in the 2300 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest. Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
