Commissary [1443 P St. NW] will host its second annual Oscar’s viewing party on Sunday, March 2, from 4:00pm to 11:00pm. The viewing party will kick-off with an extended Red Carpet Happy Hour from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Featuring Oscar-themed cocktails such as Rosalyn’s Nail Polish (American Hustle) or the Wolfberry Mojito (The Wolf of Wall Street), the red carpet arrivals will show on a full wall projector followed by the 8:00pm awards. This year’s event offers each guest a complimentary Oscar cocktail as well as a $5 popcorn bar, featuring five different gourmet flavors such as Cinnamon Bun and Siracha. Oscar inspired food specials will be offered all night and attendees are eligible to win prizes such as Commissary gift cards and tickets to upcoming Studio Theatre shows.”

“On Sunday, March 2nd, Boqueria DC (www.boqueriadc.com) will host an Oscars Viewing Party, featuring unlimited tapas and drinks. Tapas offerings will be divided in two categories, with “Supporting Role” dishes including Pan con Tomate, Pinxtos de Tortilla, and Patatas Bravas, and “Leading Role” dishes like Gambas al Ajillo, Coliflor Rustida (caramelized cauliflower, yogurt, mint, raisins, garlic and pine nuts), Mejillones con Chorizo (Blue Bay mussels, chorizo, thyme, garlic white wine), and Albondigas (lamb meatballs, tomato sauce, sheep’s milk cheese). The viewing party will conclude with a sweet treat of Churros con Chocolate, the traditional Spanish fried dough with thick hot chocolate dipping sauce. · The Undercover: Hustle on up to the bar and get ready to party with this cocktail, no disguise needed. Influenced by American Hustle, it includes it includes Zonin Prosecco, Triple Sec, and Cranberry Juice. ($8)

· Cowboy Cocktail: Howdy there partner! Mosey on over and grab a Dallas Buyers Club-inspired cocktail to sip on while you watch the city folk on television. This cocktail, featuring Hornitos tequila, agave nectar, fresh muddled lemon and lime, and a splash of soda, will help guests have a big time. ($8)

· Out of This World Burgers: These tasty burgers will have Oscar fans defying Gravity for more. Enjoy gourmet beef sliders topped with bacon jam, blue cheese crumbles, arugula and horseradish aioli. ($3 each)

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
