“Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of December 13-15, with service adjustments on the Red, Orange and Blue lines beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night.
Trains on the Yellow and Green lines will operate at regular weekend intervals.
On the Red Line, trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont and every 10 minutes during daytime hours between Grosvenor and Silver Spring. Orange and Blue Line trains will operate every 20 minutes as crews perform necessary bridge repair work. Green Line service will be normal between Branch Ave and College Park; however, riders traveling to or from Greenbelt should add time on Saturday and Sunday only (details below).

Red Line trains will operate as follows:
Between Shady Grove & Glenmont: Every 20 minutes throughout the weekend
Additional trains between Grosvenor & Silver Spring: Every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM
Work Performed: Improvements to track infrastructure between Twinbrook and Grosvenor stations; leak mitigation and track fastener renewal between Forest Glen and Glenmont stations.
Orange Line 10 p.m. Fri, Dec. 13 through closing Sun, Dec. 15
Trains every 20 minutes
Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend.
Work Performed: Bridge repair work outside Stadium-Armory
Blue Line 10 p.m. Fri, Dec. 13 through closing Sun, Dec. 15
Trains every 20 minutes
Blue Line trains will operate every 20 minutes throughout the weekend.

Yellow Line 10 p.m. Fri, Dec. 13 through closing Sun, Dec. 15
Regular weekend service between Huntington & Fort Totten

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!
The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!
What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
