“Dear PoPville,
We are collecting holiday cards, handmade by kids, to be delivered to the residents of the Old Soldiers Home this holiday season. Cards can be any shape and size, no envelope needed. It is a great way to give back to members of our DC community who have given so much in their lifetimes. The cards will be delivered in person along with hugs , smiles, and some singing. Please help us gather as many cards as possible to brighten the day and room of the residents at the Armed Forces Retirement Home. If the number of cards exceeds the number of residents we will be shipping all of the extra cards to Operation Gratitude for placement in care packages sent to persons serving overseas. The deadline for the card making is December 10th and cards can be picked up if you are local or mailing arrangements can be made if you are out of the district.
