More folks are messaging me about a coming closure at the Looking Glass Lounge. There is no official confirmation on their IG/FB but a very good source tells me it’s true and that their last day will July 29th.

Back in June 2023 Looking Glass announced a coming closure, thankfully they were able to renegotiate their lease and had stayed open. Alas, if we’ve learned anything over the years, all good things… All good things…
When we originally heard they were closing back in 2023 I shared:
Temperance Hall and later Looking Glass Lounge was where (along with Red Derby) I spent most of my nights before marriage/kids. I had our very first anniversary party/relaunch from blogger to a dot com there back in 2007. I had my first date with my now wife there. If my date didn’t like Looking Glass, I knew there would be no long term future for us. Ach this is a rough one. I loath closing history lessons. If you were around at the time. You know. You know. The best people. Real. Diverse. Welcoming. Insane. An extension of home. Stability. A light.
Maybe another miracle is works. Until July 30th, we shall hope so.
