EXCLUSIVE End of an Era Scuttlebutt: The Prime Rib Could Be Closing on K Street this Month. Possibly Moving to a new Space.

2020 K Street, NW opened here in 1976

Well this would be a big one. I’ve now heard this from a few tipsters but this is the first time I’ve heard an actual date:

“I heard Prime Rib on K is closing this location on the 17th of June. They’re allegedly moving…”

2020 K Street, NW

I emailed the restaurant for confirmation yesterday and will update if/when I hear back.

STAY TUNED.

“The Prime Rib was founded by brothers Buzz and Nick BeLer in Baltimore in 1965 — and we’re proud to still be a family-owned business. The restaurant was born from their love of 1940s Hollywood style, legendary food, devoted service and timeless sophistication — things we believe are meaningful, valuable, and transcendent.

As a
family-owned business,
we’ve built a loyal
household of guests

It’s because we create a space and experience they can trust in, again and again. The highest quality prime rib roasted on the bone to rosy perfection. Precisely chilled Blue Point Oysters. A flawlessly made martini. A wait staff devoted to your care and enjoyment.

That’s why everything about the design, food, service, music, and experience of the prime rib is a celebration of people, of the ordinary and extraordinary moments in life, and of the relationships we’re grateful to build and nurture.”
