The GoFundMe says:
“Support Jerry Park’s Fight Against Cancer
My name is Joyce Park, and I am raising funds to support my father, Jerry Park, as he faces several serious medical challenges. Jerry is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and this has been an incredibly difficult time for our family both emotionally and financially. He is also a small business owner in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and we are working hard to keep the business operating during his extended absence.
My father was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and Myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. He underwent a major surgery to remove a tumor from his pancreas, but unfortunately experienced complications afterward due to a bowel obstruction, which required him to be hospitalized again. He received another surgery for the obstruction but that has caused a delay for further cancer treatment. He will be needing chemotherapy and will most likely need a stem cell transplant in the future.
Our family is seeking donations to help cover mounting medical expenses and to provide temporary financial relief so we can focus on supporting my father through his recovery. Contributions will also help us manage the challenges of operating or temporarily closing our family business while he receives the care and support he needs.
Any support, whether through donations or sharing this fundraiser, would mean so much to our family during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.”
