From an email:

“Unido, Washington, D.C.’s premier destination for 100% Panamanian-grown coffee, is expanding its footprint inside La Cosecha at Union Market District, taking over the elevated and largest anchor space, and will reopen as an all-day food and beverage destination next week. To celebrate the new location, Unido is hosting a Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, April 17th at 6 pm.

The expanded café and bar space will not only continue to serve its signature coffee drinks, but the team is rolling out a new all-day breakfast menu, plus an enhanced lunch and dinner menu featuring fresh takes on Central, South, and North American flavors. Just in time for spring, Unido will also be serving wine, cocktails, and tapas at night, making it the perfect spot to grab a light bite with friends or coworkers at the bar, a table inside the bustling market, or on the outdoor patio.

New breakfast items include:

Full press release:

“Unido is expanding its presence in Washington, D.C. this April with a larger new home inside La Cosecha in the Union Market District. The new space offers additional indoor and outdoor seating, a kitchen, and a full bar, creating more room for guests to experience Café Unido throughout the day and into the evening.

Known for roasting and serving 100% Panamanian coffee in the Union Market District, Unido has built its reputation around coffees with a clear sense of place — coffees grown in Panama’s volcanic highlands, sourced directly from producers, and roasted to let origin speak for itself. At La Cosecha, that experience will now extend beyond coffee into an all-day café and evening bar.

Founded in Panama in 2014, Café Unido was created to bring Panama’s best coffee back home — and then share it abroad on its own terms. What began as a coffee project became a neighborhood ritual: a place where guests come for their daily café con leche, discover the depth of Panamanian coffee over time, and return for food, conversation, and a sense of ease. The team opened its first D.C. location at La Cosecha in 2019, introducing Washington guests to the world of Panama coffee, from everyday washed coffees to the celebrated Geisha varietal, one of the most sought-after coffees in the world.

The new La Cosecha location will offer a larger footprint, with a long bar, indoor seating, and outdoor tables. During the day, guests can expect specialty coffee alongside breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, açaí bowls, salads, and sandwiches. At night, the space will shift into a relaxed, hospitality-driven bar serving classic cocktails, curated wine, and a tapas menu of small plates.

The concept reflects the rhythm Unido is known for in Panama: a place people can return to throughout the day, whether for a quick coffee before work, lunch with friends, a glass of wine in the evening, or simply a few minutes of peace.

Unido also operates a café and kitchen in Shaw and plans to open a smaller coffee shop at The Stacks in Buzzard Point later this spring.

Hours: Sunday – Wednesday: 8 am – 8 pm; Thursday – Saturday: 8 am – 11 pm
Address: 1280 4th St, NE, Washington, DC (anchor location inside of La Cosecha)”
