I was going past the White House to see the cherry blossoms on Friday and I saw one tourist after another asking Secret Service and cops where they could get a good view of the White House. Nobody would give them an honest answer — they couldn’t.
There were so many restricted areas and construction sites that you literally couldn’t see the “The People’s House” anywhere from any direction. The south side sidewalk was off limits as was the Ellipse. The east side of Pennsylvania Avenue was blocked by vehicles. The check point on the west side of Lafayette Park was restricted access. Was some of this just temporary?”
