Sprig and Sprout Closing After 13 Years in Glover Park (after Sunday’s Service)

2317 Wisconsin Ave, NW

Thanks to all who passed on the sad news from Sprig and Sprout:

“After 13 incredible years in Glover Park, we’re heartbroken to share that

Sprig & Sprout will be closing our doors for good at the end of the night on Sunday, July 27.

This has been one of the hardest decisions Marc and I have had to make—and we announce this with disappointed hearts. For over three years, we’ve been operating without a formal lease, without any legal protections, and only crushing silence from our landlord. The repairs on the building have become overwhelming and without any response from our landlord we essentially are being constructively evicted.

More than anything, the burden of maintaining the building has pulled our focus away from what mattered most: the food, the service, and you.

We’ve made it through so much together—COVID, staffing shortages, crazy supply chain chaos. Through all of it, we stayed scrappy, and did our best to keep serving the community we love so much. But this last hurdle was one we just couldn’t overcome.

What we feel most is gratitude. From day one, Glover Park—and DC as a whole—embraced us. To every loyal guest (some of whose kids we watched grow up and head off to college), to the food lovers who sent kind words our way, and to the friends—old and new—who helped share our story: thank you. You helped make this place what it was.

We’re proud of the recognition we’ve received over the years—making several lists on Eater DC, being named a Best of Pho finalist multiple times in Washington City Paper, and getting shoutouts in The Washington Post and other outlets. We’re also incredibly grateful to programs like GPMS, WACIF, and LEDC for their guidance, support, and advice along the way. From day one, we’ve felt lifted by the people and organizations around us—and we’re so thankful for that.

Thank you for being part of our wild, beautiful adventure—we couldn’t have done this without you.

(And hey, if you know anyone hiring… just kidding. Kind of.)

With all our love and appreciation,

Jen Hoang & Marc Farmer
