“Dear PoPville,
Any idea of the new-ish Pupatella is already closed (and why?)? There is a big orange “danger” sign posted on the door and the inside has that hastily abandoned restaurant look. The building has been cursed as a high turnover location, so I was surprised to see a legit restaurant move in – was hoping for a turnaround.”
On June 17th there was a fire. DC Fire and EMS had reported:
“Update Box Alarm 300 block Mass. Ave NE. Fire top floor 3 story mixed occupancy with restaurant 1st floor. Fire contained by sprinkler and extinguished by firefighters. No injuries reported. Investigators requested.”
Another reader writes:
