Earlier this month a reader wondered about the “absence of landscape maintenance in public spaces around town?”
ANC Commissioner Miguel Trindade Deramo writes over the weekend:
“If you’re in #MeridianHill/#MalcolmXPark this holiday weekend & wondering “is the grass overgrown?” the answer is yes. It’s because @Interior & @NatlParkService are unable to manage contracts (e.g. with landscapers) due to staff & budget cuts. So much for “safe & beautiful DC.”
