“Compass Rose as you’ve known it for 11 years is going to close on T street at the end of this month. June 1 will be its last day of service. It’s been a hell of a ride but it’s time for Compass, the nomad that she is, to move West. Compass Rose will take a little summer vacation with plans to open back up in a few months in the space, but as something very different that we hope still serves our neighborhood well. The version of Compass as you know her, low lights and loud music, will end at the end of this month ❤️
Like me, Compass Rose is a nomad and 11 years is a long time for a traveler to stay in one place. So, she is journeying West to open up an outpost at @maydanmarket in Los Angeles 🌴 And, she’s evolving here in DC, finding a new way to emerge after a much-needed rest.
Please come over and enjoy the space over the next couple of weeks. Many thanks to our amazing team for seeing us through to the end of this chapter, and thanks to the staff past who gave us so many amazing years. Neighbors & friends, I thank you all because you all left us a part of yourselves and it’s all woven together to be one beautiful freaking story 🙏🙏 I can’t wait to go back and read my favorite parts over and over again. The spirit of this place was created by all the beautiful souls who have worked here, eaten here, danced here, sang here, drank here, and fought here.
But the story continues on T street. We have a couple of years left on our lease so check back with us in late summer for something new on T street ✨
