With the return-to-office mandate across the federal workforce, many out-of-state employees are facing a difficult choice: commute for hours each way or telework and risk termination.
I’m exploring whether anyone in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area has space they’d be willing to share with a federal employee during the workweek. Likewise, if you’re a fed seeking temporary housing for some or all weekdays due to an unreasonable commute, I’d like to hear from you.
I’m assessing interest to create a system that connects feds in this situation with potential hosts. This is not intended to be a long-term solution but would provide employees time to continue working while they search for local employment or make other arrangements.
