This year, I’m celebrating my 5th year as a badass breast cancer survivor and raising funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally, with increasing rates–especially among women under 50. Unfortunately, I know this all too well–I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at just 34 years old. After completing treatment in February 2020, I promised to do whatever I could to prevent others from facing what I went through.
To mark this occasion, I’m hosting an in-person benefit bingo night called “Boobs for Bingo” on Thursday, February 27 at Whitlow’s (901 U St NW). Expect
a fun night of bingo and prizes while raising money to fight breast cancer. Prizes include gift cards from generous local businesses like PLNTR/ Café Cino, Life Alive, Gogi Yogi, Duke’s Grocery, RASA, and Call Your Mother.
