Update Large Woods Fire Rock Creek Park vicinity Picnic Groves 9 & 10. Several acres of woodlands involved. Units operating on both 16th St & Beach Dr. NW. perimeter established & fire appears contained. Approx 10 DC units operating. Mutual aide from @mcfrs for 3 brush units.
Update large woods fire Rock Creek Park. Still working numerous hotspots in steep terrain. Eng. 20 drafting water from Rock Creek, unusual procedure in the city. PIO is located in Picnic Grove 10. Residents in area may see & smell smoke. Manpower and labor intensive.
Update woods fire Rock Creek Park NW. Operations continue with 8 engines, 2 trucks, 1 rescue squad, 4 brush units, rehab & canteen units, several EMS units & 3 command officers. Aprox 75 personnel, including mutual aid units from @mcfrs. Fire remains contained with hot spots.
Update woods fire Rock Creek Park at Grove 10. The incident is under control. Some units returning. Continue to monitor the area for any flare ups. No injuries. Fire investigators on scene. Thanks to @usparkpolicepio Eagle helicopter for their assistance.”
