Weekend CHEESE ALERT “Wegmans is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its cheese caves”

“Wegmans is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its cheese caves, located in Rochester, N.Y., with a companywide in-store event November 16 and 17.

Customers can visit stations throughout the cheese department for pairing ideas, holiday entertainment tips, and to learn more about the company’s cave-ripened cheeses.

Wegmans built its own cheese caves as a way to bring perfectly ripened soft cheeses to its customers at the peak of perfection.

WHAT: On November 16 and 17,

all Wegmans locations will be hosting an event to celebrate 10 years of making delicious cave-ripened cheeses. Customers will have an opportunity to learn tips for pairing cheeses, entertaining friends and family, and creating
memorable hostess gifts.

Customers are invited to visit their local Wegmans store to help celebrate the caves and learn more about the cheeses ripened there. There will be 4-5 stations at each store:

An education station with details about the ripening process at the caves

A station that focuses on our soft-ripened cheeses and the difference between Bloomy Rinds and Washed Rinds

All about Brie!

Pairing prosciutto and soft-ripened cheeses for your holiday events

Wine and cheese pairings for special occasions (only in states where wine is sold in store)
