Wanted to share that Free2move has completely revamped their carsharing program, probably in the least user friendly possible I can think of.
Now they ask you to
download a new app, sign up again for the service (from scratch) and then wait for them to move the cars from the old program to the new one. Because yes, cars are also being migrated one at a time and not all of them are available in the new app.
That being bad however, is only the tip of the iceberg. The biggest change is the new pricing model that I havent seen explained anywhere.
Now you have to choose upfront between paying per minute with 500 miles included but no tiers OR deciding at the time of starting the rental how many hours/days you will need the car and then paying for that + cost per mile.
Sounds complicated? It is! It kinda puts together the worst of Zipcar (having to predict how long you need your car for) plus having to count miles as well! For my usage and comparing with their previous pricing, this is easily double in price, but the time you will spend calculating it yourself and making sense of it.. that it’s priceless indeed.”
