Post Office

“Oops, USPS did it again” – Temple Heights Designation Lives

1635 Connecticut Ave, NW

“Dear PoPville,

Well, USPS has opened the newly located post office in Dupont on Conn Ave, BUT it’s still called “Temple Heights,” just like at its former location, which isn’t an actual neighborhood in DC. Google that and you’ll see your own article. Why it’s not called Dupont Circle is laughable.

The post office on Penn Ave NW between 17th and 18th is called McPherson, yet McPherson is on the other side of the White House and Lafayette Square around 15th and 14th. It’s closest to Farragut West, both it’s not called that.

Previously I worked almost 3 years as a subcontractor at USPS HQ, so I’ve seen under the hood. It’s both an amazing place and an utter baffling place at the same time, eg their PO naming shenanigans.”
