“NPS is planning to demolish the bridge.”

“A few months ago I signed a petition from PoPville to save the Foundry Branch Trestle Bridge in Glover Archbold Park. While digging through NPS docs, I found the update that no one appears to have picked up yet. NPS is planning to demolish the bridge.

In February, then-acting DDOT Director Sharon Kershbaum alerted the Council (haven’t reviewed the 12 hour footage but I believe it was during the 2/6 oversight hearings) that the funds were insufficient to proceed on any level. The budget was not changed.

NPS is only considering “low concrete bridge footers” now. Finally, they considered creating a new historical easement to protect the former bridge site from ever being useful again.
