From a press release:
“Flight Club, a unique, upscale social darts concept, is bound for the bullseye of Washington, DC this winter, with its 7th US location opening at 641 New York Ave. NW in Mount Vernon Square.
Launched in the US in 2018 by State of Play Hospitality, a leading international social entertainment operator, Flight Club is a high-spirited concept that pairs craft cocktails and elevated cuisine with its signature fast-paced, technology-driven Social Darts® experience that offers guests highly engaging gameplay in a stunning design-led environment.
Flight Club’s secret is its proprietary scoring software which has revolutionized the traditional game of darts with tracking technology that enables automatic scoring and runs several exciting multiplayer games for groups of up to 300 people. Win, and a hidden camera captures video of your final throw and screens an instant replay, so you and your friends can relive the moment.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing Flight Club to the nation’s capital this winter,” said Toby Harris, Chief Executive Officer of State of Play Hospitality. “We’ve had our eyes on D.C. for many years and found the perfect home in Mount Vernon Square. The city oozes charm, quality and international flair so it’s a natural fit for Flight Club!”
Between rounds, sip on an array of cocktails or mocktails crafted with top-shelf spirits, including the Espresso Old Fashioned (Woodford Reserve Bourbon, espresso, vanilla and chocolate bitters), or the spicy Oaxacan Seaglass (green chili house-infused Banhez Mezcal, lychee, lime and ginger); or Ladybird (Planteray Rum, hibiscus, lime, watermelon, egg white). Pair your drinks with shareable, globally inspired dishes such as the Lobster Elote Dip (grilled street corn, jalapeños, cilantro, cotija, tajin, lime, mayonnaise, served with tajin tortilla chips); an array of flatbreads; Mini Beef Barbacoa Tacos topped with a cilantro crema; or Mini Poké Tacos drizzled with gochujang aioli and layered with crushed wasabi peas. Cap it all off with a Flight Club dessert staple: Cotton candy.
In a city where spaces for big group outings are few and far between, Flight Club specializes in catering to celebrations, corporate get-togethers, holiday events and more, with flexible food and beverage packages available. The DC location will be 8,300 square feet, with 12 “oches” and semi private playing areas, perfect for adult groups of all sizes, ages and abilities.
Flight Club, launched in London in 2015, is inspired by fairgrounds and the British pub. That history is reflected in the Victorian-inflected design intended to make visitors feel as if they’ve been transported to a beautiful 19th-century London pub with whimsical fairground touches. Flight Club DC’s location is particularly well-suited for the brand’s aesthetic, being located within the reconfigured assemblage of historic rowhouses in the bustling mixed-use development 655 New York, from Brookfield Properties and Douglas Development.
Since launching Flight Club in the US in Chicago in 2018, State of Play Hospitality has opened venues in Boston, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Denver over the last seven years. The DC location will be joined by new Flight Clubs in Philadelphia and St Louis this winter, with a flagship New York City location coming in late 2025.”
