“Dear PoPville,
I’d like to give a shout out to the DC Police Department (in Shaw). On Saturday night, near the north entrance of the Shaw Metro station, about 20 feet from me, someone pulled out a gun and shot it in the air. The group of three individuals then ran away. The police arrived on the scene within one minute of the incident.
Luckily, an apartment building security camera captured a video of the shooting and within minutes of the shot being fired they were able to share the video with the police. Around 20 minutes later, the police found the individual and arrested him while he was still in possession of a gun. A big thank you to the officers responding so quickly and for getting another gun off the streets.”
