“I spotted this snake on my run next to McPherson Square. He was trying to make his way across Eye Street so a stranger and I flagged down a cop, who called animal control, and they said to leave it alone. They’ll come out for it if it… bites someone!
I believe it’s a non-poisonous rat snake based on my googling, but it was a startling sight (blocks from the White House)!”
If you spot a hawk, any interesting wildlife or celebrity skateboarder Tony Hawk, and get a good photo please send in an email where you spotted them to [email protected]. Thanks! Hawks around Town is made possible by a generous grant from the Ben and Sylvia Gardner foundation.
