From a press release:

“Following TikTok food critic Keith Lee’s visit to the SMiZE & DREAM Flavor Studio (2653 Connecticut Ave, NW) in D.C.’s Woodley Park on August 25th, where he tried the “The Best Vanilla I’ve Ever Had”, “That Woodley Park Thang” and “Candy Bacon Crunch”, the store will hand out 200 free scoops to the public this Sunday, September 1, starting at 12PM.

Lee said:

“That’s real vanilla bean, that’s not imitation vanilla.”

“My favorite so far is That Woodley Park Thang.”

“In my opinion, I don’t see why there’s not [lines] out the door.”

“I’m not a super sweets person, I like the right sweets and this is the right sweets in my opinion.”

The summer pop-up’s concept led by Banks launched July 19th with lines wrapped around the block throughout the day along with a visit from Vice President Kamala Harris, just two days before President Biden stepped down from the race and her endorsement by many as the candidate for the Democratic ticket.

SMiZE & DREAM crafted two special flavors as a nod to its D.C. location, “Cap Hill Crunch” and “That Woodley Park Thang”, and has additionally dropped limited edition flavors each week this summer.

Following this summer’s pop-up, SMiZE & DREAM is committed to investing in D.C.’s culinary education with a non-profit ice cream and entrepreneurial learning center. The curriculum aims to support the economic development of D.C. by educating underserved youth about the ice cream industry, from science to selling. SMiZE & DREAM will collaborate with government agencies and local organizations to support the learning center. The program will extend globally to SMiZE’s international outposts, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and enriching connections for D.C. youth.

The shop will remain open until September 20, 2024.”
