A New Dog Park looking to come to Shaw near the Howard Theatre

600 block of Florida Ave, NW

“Dear PoPville,

We in the neighborhood are incredibly excited about this prospect. The now vacant lot is owned and managed by the city. For years it has been a veritable trash heap. I had been working with the city for months to clean up the site. Realizing we needed to provide the city an alternative aside from simply asking them to clean it up, I started a petition for a dog park to be located here.

I was able to get widespread community support for this application as you can see from the application on DPR’s website for North Shaw Dog Park. You’ll see neighborhood associations, businesses, and many neighbors have signed onto this.

Folks can share their opinions too! All they need to do is send in an email in support for or opposition to the park to [email protected] with your name, telephone number, mailing address, and why you support the dog park.

Best,
Parker Griffin
