“We had a drive by shooting on florida ave, was rapid gunfire rounds around midnight followed by a bunch of cop cars racing after what felt like 30 seconds later. The police have blocked off Florida between 6th and 7th NW. Not sure if anyone flagged to you, but wanted to let you know.”

“The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest.
On Friday, August 23, 2024, at approximately 12:17 a.m., officers were in the area of the 700 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest when they heard the sound of gunshots. Once officers arrived on the scene, evidence of a shooting was located but no victim. A short time later, an adult female was located at an area hospital receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 23-year-old Lou Loni Jordan, of Waldorf, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
