“Dear PoPville,
Here’s the story:
My building had a break-in a few days ago that resulted in theft.
The suspect opened the door with some kind of prying screwdriver and stole some items near the front door. I filed a police report online in order to attach the video of the suspect. We then called 911 to follow-up. An officer eventually arrived on scene and we provided him with the video and the online report number from MPD. He said he would follow-up on the existing online report number.
A few hours later, the online report is rejected with no reason given and no way of contacting MPD regarding the report. I filed another report online, which was also rejected a few days later.
I spoke with a captain at the 5th district precinct and he had no visibility into these online report whatsoever. The MPD online reporting system appears to be totally worthless.”
