“Dear PoPville,
Seen on the southbound lane of Connecticut Ave NW at R Streets. It happened at approx 2:07am, sounded like a giant explosion. Could hear it from my apartment, above the sound of my AC blasting. Turns out an SUV rolled and slammed into the storefront of the COVE coworking space at 1666 Connecticut. Vehicle landed upside down.
Unsure what direction the vehicle originated from, nobody seemed to witness it happen. I was told the inhabitants of the car made it out safely. Emergency crews arrived within minutes, and firefighters were evaluating the structural integrity of the building.
DC’s bravest and other crews tried to determine how to remove the SUV wedged upside down between a lamppost and the building. Super complex operation.”
