“Thompson Restaurants is pleased to unveil the grand opening of “Hen Quarter Prime,” the esteemed Southern restaurant’s second location nestled in the heart of Washington D.C’s Buzzard Point neighborhood. Renowned for its vibrant, fun-casual atmosphere, full-service Southern Fare, and an array of acclaimed fried chicken and handcrafted cocktails, this new establishment is a celebration of Southern charm with a modern twist, boasting views of the Capitol Riverfront.

Hen Quarter Prime is an elevated tribute to the rich tapestry of Southern cuisine, curated by the esteemed Chef Sammy Davis. Guests can indulge in fan favorites such as Chef Sammy’s Signature Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits, and Lobster Mac n Cheese, in addition to exploring new premium offerings such as the Grilled Branzino, Seafood Cajun Diavalo, and variety of House-cut Steaks.

On the weekends, Hen Quarter Prime takes the brunch experience to new heights with the introduction of The Grande Brunch Buffet featuring a lavish Chilled Seafood Bar, Carving station, Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar, Southern Brunch classics, Charcuterie delights, Omelet creations, and more.

Hen Quarter Prime is a sanctuary of Southern elegance and charm. The 6600+ square foot property allows for more than 200 seated guests at a time with the ability to accommodate medium-to-large-sized parties as well as two private dining rooms equipped with A/V for all guests’ private event needs. The space features high ceilings, retractable windows allowing for great views of the Anacostia River, luxurious banquette seating, and a 24-person outdoor patio. With an emphasis on Southern Hospitality and a personal touch for every guest, Hen Quarter Prime strives to make every occasion feel special, for returning and first-time diners alike.

Hen Quarter on the River is located at 2121 1st Street SW, Washington, DC 20024, and will be open Tuesday – Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 4:00 to 11:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The Grande Brunch Buffet is every Saturday 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM & Sunday 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.”
