“The Charmery announces today it will open at The Parks at Walter Reed on Friday, May 24. The retail space at Hines’ 7175 12th Street NW, Suite 305, Washington, DC 20012 marks the imaginative ice cream shop’s sixth location, with shops in Baltimore, Columbia and Chevy Chase.
“We could not be more thrilled to enter the District of Columbia,” said David Alima, Co-Owner, The Charmery. “My wife Laura and I spent some beautiful years in DC in Columbia Heights and Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods and have incredibly fun and lovely memories of our time. As the food scene has continued to grow here, we felt it a natural next step to bring our unique flavors and playful approach in the world of ice cream to the DC community.”
The Parks at Walter Reed location will feature all seven of the signature nationally-recognized ALWAYS flavors fans have come to know and love from The Charmery, like Maryland Mud (chocolate Oreo ice cream with Oreos and chocolate chips) and Old Bay Caramel. It will also have their #FridayFlavorDrop- a new flavor dropping every Friday. The shop will have 16 total flavors at any time, including ‘Here for Now’ flavors and two vegan flavors (one sorbet and one coconut milk-based). The shop will offer indoor and outdoor seating, facing the park on the exterior. The interior will sparkle with art from muralist Marshall Adams and a signature concrete gummy bear wall by LUKE WORKS.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring the life and spirit of what we’ve cultivated in the Baltimore community to Washington,” said Laura Alima, Co-Owner, The Charmery. “We have built an amazing following at our Chevy Chase location and look forward to the opportunity to continue to grow into DC proper.”
The Charmery’s Parks at Walter Reed location will open to the public on Friday, May 24. Hours of operation will be from noon to 11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday. All ice cream production will remain at their Ice Cream Factory shop and facility at Union Collective in Baltimore, Maryland.
