From DCPL:
“In celebration of Black Music Month, Go-Go on the Rooftop returns to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. These free Sunday concerts will feature a lineup of established and upcoming Go-Go musicians.
Founded in 2012, the Go-Go Archive was established by the DC Public Library to collect, preserve, and provide access to materials documenting Go-Go music, Washington, D.C.’s official sound. It includes photographs, books, recordings, and other ephemera; oral history interviews and research materials; and archived tweets from the #dontmutedc movement. The archive activates the collection through educational initiatives and cultural events. Each concert will be recorded and added to the Go-Go Archive, furthering its mission to preserve and promote Go-Go music.
Event Schedule:
June 9: E.U. (Experience Unlimited); Still Familiar Band and MAB (Mental Attraction) 2.0
