From NPS: “Heads up! Be aware that Saturday, 5/11, around noon, 60 planes representing the history of general aviation will fly down the Potomac and over the National Mall. The permitted event is closely coordinated with the FAA, Secret Service, and other agencies.”
“The DC Flyover will launch from Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK), proceed down the Potomac River, and up the National Mall toward the Capitol.”
And thanks to Eric for sharing more details: “Tomorrow (Sat 5/11) from ~noon-1pm, the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) will have a General Aviation flyover event along the Potomac.”
From AlertDC: “On Saturday, May 11, 2024, a flyover involving multiple aircraft will take place over the National Mall, between 12:00pm and 1:00pm. During that time, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will be under a ground stop.”
