Shah Zaman was deposed and blinded by his brother Shah Mahmud in 1801 AD. Years after that, in 1234 AH/1818 AD, in a letter to Rashid Pasha, the Ottoman chancellor called his conquered territory “Afghania”, after prayer upon you.
“I would like to bring to His Majesty’s attention that this humble servant of Allah, after my father’s death, I sat on the throne and conquered Afghania, including Khorasan and some regions of India up to Kashmir, Lahore, Sind, Multan and Shikarpur up to the shores of the Great Sea, and Kandahar and Balkh up to the shores of the Jihun Sea, around Bukhara and Kingdom of Herat, and up to non-Arab lands and others, the entire description of which shall be verbosity.”

Anyway, Ahmad Shah, Timur Shah, Zaman Shah, and Shah Shuja, none of them called the territory under their command Afghanistan.”
